Arne Jacobsen created Banker's Clock when he designed the building for Denmark's National bank in 1971. The present-day rendition, faithful to the original drawings, offers this wall clock in several sizes. To ensure the clocks are recreated entirely in accordance with and true to the style and spirit of Arne Jacobsen, the Rosendahl design company has initiated close collaboration with the architect and designer Teit Weylandt, who for many years directed product development at Arne Jacobsen's studio and later at Dissing + Weitling.
Originally designed by Arne Jacobsen as part of his "Gesamtkunstwerk" for the National Bank of Denmark (Danmarks Nationalbank), it would be his last project before his death in 1971. In line with Arne Jacobsen's view that design down to the smallest details must be considered, he designed everything for the bank from the actual architecture down to the bathroom fittings, furniture, and even the clocks. Otto Weitling and Hans Dissing took over the final completion of the project and the bank opened in 1978.
With its clock case supporting a concave glass front, the visual effect of the clock appearing to float on the wall is both striking and captivating. A remarkable choice for commemorating weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, and other special occasions, this clock serves as a distinctive and meaningful gift option. Requires a AA battery.
