Philippe Starck strikes again! The prototype version of this stool was first used in 2001 for the Mies van der Rohe retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art for a recreated cafe that Mies originally designed. The museum selected these stools as pieces that might have been chosen by Mies van der Rohe himself. Three times stronger than steel and amazingly light weight, these stools have a life expectancy of at least 150 years.
The Emeco stool is offered with a hand brushed or hand polished finish. The brushed finish is suitable for outdoor use and the polished finish is only recommended for use in protected outdoor environments. Each stool includes soft plastic (TPU) glides. Optional formed seat pads can be specified in black vinyl or recycled PET with top surface in felt.
