Named after the epic poems of ancient times, the Epic Elliptical Dining Table is a sculptural piece of furniture inspired by Greek columns and Roman architecture.

GUBI's introduction of GamFratesi's Epic Tables brought the aesthetics of Classical architecture and the rich textures of natural stone into the home. Now, the much-loved design steps outside with a new edition specially optimized for outdoor use. Designed and named in homage to the architectural traditions of ancient Greece and Rome, the tables of the Epic Collection are characterized by their monolithic silhouettes and materiality. Where the interior iterations are crafted from travertine or steel, the Epic Table takes a new material direction, exploring the mesmerizing visual expression and impressive durability of quartzite.

Compared to travertine, quartzite is harder and absorbs less water, and it is less susceptible to scratches than other, softer stones, making it ideally suited for outdoor use. Built to withstand extreme temperatures, the Epic Outdoor Dining Table is durable enough to last generations. Over time, the natural stone surface will subtly shift in tone, adding to its unique character.

With their own dual heritage, Italian Enrico Fratesi and Danish Stine Gam share GUBI's ability to synthesize seemingly opposing ideas, the classic and the contemporary, the intellectual and the sensual, the understated and the expressive, the manufactured and the unique.
