A horizontally expanded version of the Lussi dining chair, this upright bench is perfect as a stand-alone piece or paired as a dining bench with the Hall dining table. The three angled planes of the seat, lumbar, and back provide an unexpectedly comfortable sit without a cushion. The angled seat also sheds rain and plant debris. Designed by David Salmela for Loll, the Lussi Bench is the latest addition to the Salmela Collection.

David Salmela (FAIA) practices in Duluth, Minnesota. His projects have won over 50 regional & national architectural design awards. Salmela's work has been published internationally in journals such as I.D., Monocle and Architectural Review. Dean of the University of Minnesota College of Design has written two books on his work,"Salmela Architect" & "The Invisible Element of Place".

Loll products are made with recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE) primarily from milk jugs. Milk jugs are used due to their lack of pigment so Loll's vibrant colors can be created. As Loll material is a post-consumer recycled material, the medium to create the material does inevitably fluctuate. Material color and texture may slightly vary from sheet to sheet and thus product to product may have slight variances. USA made aluminum inserts mated with a 304 grade stainless steel bolt in all joinery. Richlite paper composite is used for structural elements in some pieces. Arbor Wood thermally modified wood can also be found in a select few products. All materials are chosen for their high quality, no maintenance, performance and longevity.

A cable hole can be added to the legs for light-duty securing of furniture, especially when you want to be able to have some movement of the piece (cable not included). Loll's "L" bracket security mounts are an integrated permanent mounting option. This add-on system includes pre-drilling of insert holes as well as the actual hardware. The Salmela Collection is partially made from recycled plastic, which means it's easy to clean and requires no maintenance.
